debates

Last term room Taiao started debates!
Our debates were on should homework be set for all primary schools? I was on the negative side.
My group was Rhea, Kade and I. Rhea was the captain Kade was the First speaker and I was the second speaker. Here is what I said in the debate:

Homework, homework is something that is supposed to help you but it doesn’t, and it gets in the way in many ways like, of your friends, thoughts, and exploration of the world overall.

Another thing about homework is that it makes you isolated from others because most people are buried in homework and don’t have as much time to spend considering what they are doing in their social and future lives.
In other words that you might be obsessed with doing well or being the best, you even might be pressured by your parents, therefore the more time you spend indoors doing homework the more friends you may lose.
Another thing that is when doing homework you are mostly enclosed in a room, right? Well, this isn’t very good for you, especially when the homework you are doing in on a device.

A lot of high schoolers get so much homework that they might as well forget about that birthday dinner for there friends and their social skills will become weaker and weaker. Most of the time homework can get a lot of people super stressed and lead to anger issues where you could lose your friends if you yell at them because you might be insecure about succeeding and getting good grades. Adding onto that you could be thinking that your friends are holding you back because there telling you to rest but really there trying to do what’s best for you.

Also at the end of the debate, there was a winner and that winner was nonother than the negative side!
